Looky here what I've found!

I went to a hamfest like I pushed on the first page of this web site.

There was a vendor selling new panels (amorphous) and a few self-contained solar battery chargers. The small ones such as these are convenient, but they don't charge fast enough for my demanding needs, but they do get the job done eventually. I need something that will charge in about an hour or so like the one I'm showing on [another page].

Two that they had on display are shown below. Most vendors don't have a real big inventory, but they can usually get more or something equivalent.

This one goes for around $30.00 plus shipping. Model number ES879. It will charge AAA, AA, C, D plus some other weird "prismatic gum" type batteries. No, I don't have any financial interest in anything from any of the vendors listed. I told him I was posting these items for availability on the web and he said he'd do everything he could to fill any requests.

The next one also has some nifty features however it will only charge AA's four at a time. It has power cords contained inside to power radios, walkie-talkies, etc., or back feeds into a cigarette lighter in a car.

This one like I said only charges 4 AA's at a time but has a storage compartment for 4 more and the power cords. This sells for something just over $32.00 plus shipping. It has a model number ICP 04041.

As I stated before, they may take most of a day to charge a set of cells, but they do get the job done. They are just a little better than a 10% trickle charge but you do have to watch them so you don't overcharge them. Something hard to do in just one day as long as you don't leave it out on the back porch for a week or so.
